Sucralose Sweetener

Composition:
Ingredients: Sucralose (non-nutritive sweetener), Fillers: Lactose, Carboxymethyl Cellulose and Magnesium Stearate.
What is it, and what is it used for?
Sucralose is a non-nutritive, non-caloric (as it is not broken down by the body) artificial sweetener. It is approximately 600 times sweeter than sugar, and these tablets are conveniently formulated to provide "sweetness" equivalent to 1 tsp of sugar. It also has a far superior safety profile, when compared to other artificial sweeteners on the market.
Unlike some other artificial sweeteners, Sucralose does not leave a bitter taste in one's mouth. This is because Sucralose is derived by chemically manipulating sucrose (table sugar), so it has the same "sweetness" as sugar but the body cannot break it down, therefore providing a suitable alternative to sugar for diabetics and for weight-loss programmes.
Sucralose is also extremely heat stable making it suitable for cooking and baking - note that the tablets should first be dissolved in a little boiling water before including in a recipe (and remember 1 sweetener tablet is equivalent to 5g sugar).
